Just about all of us would one day like to create our own home recording studio. For those of us who are quite to the point of buying a handmade custom pair of speakers but still want studio reference monitors many companies have introduced affordable and effective alternatives. Even if you do not have a DIY home studio, you may still be interested in the high definition, low noise audio reference monitors can present.
M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 M-Audio Studiophile AV30 M-Audio Studiophile BX5a
Much like most the the gear the produce, the Studiophile series of monitors from M-Audio are a great introduction into the the recording equipment world. Although the models differ slightly, each offers a magnetically shielded cab, silk dome tweeters, and a specific wattage amplifier. The three models run from 1/8 stereo mini jack high quality desk speakers (the AV30), to entry level XLR capable reference monitors (BX5a). While you can easily land all this gear without spending your whole paycheck (hopefully), they sound beat most competing brands in price and functionality.
